Oil

Unlike Ointment, where oil is a viscous form of pure hard (thicker) oily substance that cannot be mixed with water. Eg. aroma oil for evaporation inhalation.

For Ointment, it's a softer and thinner form of oil when it dissolve in skin easily and an "ointment' is normally an emulsified oily liquid that has already mixed with a watery medium.
